About our school

Barkers Vale Public School has ecologically diverse surroundings, with park-like grounds, located 40km from Lismore and 55km from Murwillumbah. Barkers Vale Public School is situated on the scenic plateau of the North Coast Tablelands, embedded in the Kyogle Shire.

Barkers Vale Public School has an interesting history. It was first established in 1933 on Williams Rd, Barkers Vale and was relocated in 1997, to its current site at Wadeville on the Kyogle Road. The unique school buildings were built by local craftsmen, featuring exposed stone walls and natural timber.

Our school consists of multistage classes, catering to students in grades Kindergarten to Year 6. Our student population is multicultural, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

Barkers Vale Public School is a friendly and devoted school community, thriving on community input and participation, working together to nurture a love of learning and develop the unique potential of every child.

Our students are encouraged through the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework to uphold three core school-wide expectations of being Safe, Responsible and Connected.

Our reputation is founded on delivering quality education, and developing the individual talents, interests and abilities of our students.
